Step 1:

Apply online

You can apply online at any time, even without a letter of admission or certificate of enrollment if you are a first-year student. The application is completely non-binding for you.

Step 2:

Selection of residential complexes

You can apply for up to three residences with the online application. Please note that the selection of residences is not a list of priorities and cannot be changed at a later date.

Step 3:

No obligations, but no entitlement either

With your online application you do not enter into any obligations, but you also have no legal claim to a place to live.

Step 4:

Housing offers

If suitable accommodation is available, you will receive up to three accommodation offers by e-mail.

Step 5:

Decision and deletion of the application

If you do not accept the accommodation offered to you or do not respond to it, your application will be deleted.

Step 6:

Reapplication

You can reapply at any time. However, the waiting time of your previous application will not be taken into account.

Frequently asked questions about housing applications

The waiting time varies depending on the residential complex. It depends on demand, the number of terminations and the decisions of other applicants. If available, you will receive up to three housing offers. If you do not accept or respond to these, your application will be deleted. You can reapply at any time. However, the previous waiting period will not be taken into account.

Yes, the deposit must be transferred no later than one week before the start of the tenancy. It amounts to between €300 and €400, depending on the residential complex. One exception is the residential complex Bismarckallee 47 b – d. Here, the deposit is 1.5 times the basic rent. The deposits do not bear interest.

No, the deposit is generally refunded by bank transfer after the property management company has reported the move-out and the responsible department of the housing complex has checked whether there are any outstanding payments or claims for compensation from the tenancy.

As placements are constantly changing, we are unable to provide exact details. Instead, we check when your application has been received and give a general estimate of waiting times based on recent notices and inquiries.

All online applications submitted by you will be regarded as completed when you rent.

We will be happy to send you a suitable floor plan with an apartment offer, especially for unfurnished apartments.

Please book an appointment with the responsible property manager to hand over the keys. As a rule, you can receive the keys from the 1st working day of the month (except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). You will receive detailed information and the contact details of the property management company together with your tenancy agreement.
