As a student union, we actively contribute to the enrichment of student life by organizing a variety of cultural events.
Our aim is to promote cultural diversity at universities and offer you as a student space to be creative and gain cultural experience.
Whether workshops, exhibitions, concerts or theater – here you can showcase your talents, discover new skills and immerse yourself in Münster’s cultural diversity. Be inspired and become part of our lively cultural scene!
Our stage formats and projects
Viva Open Stage
The Viva Open Stage is the perfect opportunity for students and young artists to present their talents to an audience.
Whether poetry slam, singer/songwriting, improvisational theater or stand-up comedy – there is something for everyone here. Whether you are new to the stage or already have stage experience, everyone is welcome.
The Viva Open Stage takes place several times a semester in the Viva Campus Café, and you can find current dates and information on participation in our calendar of events.
If you are interested, please send us a “digital sample” of your skills to kultur@stw-muenster.de.
Readings
Our readings offer students the opportunity to present their self-written texts in an open and supportive environment. Whether poetry slams, poems, prose texts or diary entries – here you can present your literary works to an interested audience. The readings are a great platform for anyone who wants to share their creative writing skills.
Exhibitions
We support creative talents by participating in renowned art competitions such as the Deutsches Studierendenwerk (DSW) poster competition and the Franco-German photography competition. The impressive works of the students are regularly exhibited in the Mensa am Aasee exhibited. Check our calendar of events for the next exhibition periods and be inspired by the creative diversity!
Queer regulars' table
Our Queer regulars’ table offers a safe space for queer students and their allies. Here you can exchange ideas in an open and supportive atmosphere, make new contacts and simply be yourself. Since March 2023, we have been meeting twice a month to discuss, learn and grow together. Join us and become part of a community that lives diversity and acceptance.
Kleidertausch
Der Kleidertausch ist die perfekte Gelegenheit für Studierende, ihren Kleiderschrank nachhaltig aufzufrischen und das ohne Geld auszugeben. Der Kleidertausch findet regelmäßig im Semester statt. Die aktuellen Termine sowie alle Informationen zur Teilnahme findest du in unserem Veranstaltungskalender. Auch ohne eigene Kleidung zum Tauschen bist du selbstverständlich eingeladen und kannst gerne durch die Auswahl stöbern.

Linnea
Hey, I’m studying cultural poetics at the University of Münster and I’ll be a cultural tutor at the Studierendenwerk from November. I’m passionate about all things social, cultural and creative. I help plan events such as the Art Session, the Open Stage or the clothes swap, where you can let off steam creatively, network and have a good time. It’s particularly important to me that the event is also a safe space and accessible to as many people as possible.
Ramona
Hi students! I’m Ramona (she/her), 26 years old, and a cultural tutor at BIK. I plan events such as the Open Stage, Poetry & Plätzchen, Art Sessions and clothes swap parties that offer you space to feel good, have fun and network. I’m excited to help you get through your everyday student life with creative ideas and good entertainment. I study social work, work with young people and love dancing, walks in the woods and philosophical texts.
Nail
Hi, I’m Nail (preferably no pronouns/they/them) and I run the queer regulars’ table at the Studierendenwerk. Here we can cook together, do handicrafts, have a barbecue or go on excursions. For me, being queer means (self-)acceptance, community and strength. That’s why I want to create a safe space for sharing, networking and being yourself. I look forward to getting to know you!
