We promote the lively exchange of all nations and languages at the university location Münster, offer international students valuable insights into German culture and organize numerous intercultural events.
We live an open, active welcoming culture and want to include all students through our multilingual offerings.
Our projects
Project Welcome
Welcoming the international newcomers to the residences. We hand out welcome surprises with our “Alma” info mobile and come directly to you with music, drinks and snacks.
The international festival of the Wilhelmskamp residential complexes with summer vibes, beach flair, music, dancing, outdoor games, wheel of fortune, food truck and good vibes. It takes place every year in June.
The international welcome party for all students in Münster and Steinfurt. It takes place annually at the start of the winter semester at “Hier und Jetzt” with a colorful stage program, surprises and a DJ set.
Discover Germany and the World project
Excursions and trips to special sights, museums, Christmas markets and other typical folk festivals and customs.
We get to know Europe: Regional excursions and Franco-German voluntary service. Celebrate the world’s cultural traditions with us at cross-residential events.
Language Tandem Café
Immerse yourself in new languages and improve your language skills in an exchange with native speakers. Whether French, Spanish or German – our language tandem café offers you the perfect opportunity to make new contacts and improve your language skills in a relaxed atmosphere.
Residence tutors
Our tutors offer creative international activities that enrich community life in the residences and facilitate new social contacts and friendships:

Nischal Gyawali
Hi, I’m Nischal from Nepal and I’m studying business informatics at Münster. I love getting to know new people and cultures. As a tutor for international affairs, I organize exciting trips and events to give you unforgettable experiences. I look forward to getting to know you!
Anja Lohr
Hi, I’m Anja, 24, and I’m the tutor for International Affairs at Stadtlohnweg. I’m studying landscape ecology for my bachelor’s degree and when I’m not at university, I like to spend my time bouldering in the climbing gym or admiring plants outside in nature. You are welcome to come to my events in the hall of residence. I particularly enjoy relaxed, creative evenings and game nights.
Fardeen Khan
Hi, I’m Fardeen, your dorm tutor at Wilhelmskamp and I’m studying Business Informatics. My mission? To make Wilhelmskamp a lively and welcoming hall of residence! You can look forward to games evenings, cooking sessions and intercultural events. I can hardly wait to get to know you all.
Georgios Sterkos
I’m Georgios and I study chemistry at Münster. Besides experiments in the lab, I like to experiment in the kitchen – pineapple on pizza is my favorite! I love meeting new people and speak German, English and Greek. Come to my events at Gescherweg, I look forward to meeting you!
Jonathan Wolter
Hi, I’m Jonathan, 19 years old, your new tutor in the Heekweg dormitory and I’m studying computer science and musicology. I also play jazz trumpet and love getting to know new cultures and people. I can help you with everything from bus timetables and supermarket tips to events and financial questions. I look forward to meeting you at one of my mulled wine or cooking evenings!
Jet Lee James
Hi, I’m Jet Lee James, 23, and I’m excited to be the new tutor for the international students in the dorm at Steinfurt (Stegerwaldstrasse 27). I’m studying my master’s in material science and engineering, and when I’m not in uni, I love spending time cycling, hiking or exploring new places. I’m particularly looking forward to relaxed, creative evenings and game nights. Just come along.

How can I take part in your events?
You can find all information about our events in the event calendar. To stay up to date and find out about spontaneous event changes, follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
Do the offers cost anything?
Most of our events are free of charge and covered by the semester fee. Smaller costs may be incurred for larger events such as trips or museum visits, but we support these. If you would like to take part but are financially restricted, simply contact us.
What do I do if I have problems with my residence permit, my job or my finances?
Make an appointment with our free and confidential social counselling service. We are here for you and will be happy to help you.
I feel lonely in my apartment complex - what can I do?
Contact your hall of residence tutor. They organize events for intercultural exchange and promote community life. You can also contact our BIK team directly.
