No general rent increase as of April 1, 2026

Good news for all those who live in a Studierendenwerk Münster residence: As of April 1, 2026, there will be no general increase in warm rents or peak-billed rents.

This is the result of our regular review. The reason: current cost increases and savings largely balance each other out overall. Longer-term contracts in energy supply in particular, for example for district heating, natural gas and electricity, help to offset higher costs in other areas, such as property tax, levies, waste water and insurance.

We are therefore refraining from a comprehensive recalculation of rents this year.

Important for you: Graduated rents are excluded from this. If you have a corresponding contract, the increases agreed there will continue to apply.

Despite the current stable situation, the development of energy costs remains difficult to predict. Global political uncertainties may also have an impact on prices in the future. For this reason, subsequent adjustments cannot be ruled out.

The next regular review of the warm rents and the pointed rents is scheduled for April 2027.

To ensure that housing costs remain as stable as possible in the future, we also ask you to continue to be aware of how you use energy. Every saving helps to keep future costs low and ultimately benefits all residents.
