Frequently asked questions about our dining facilities

How do I get my card balance back?

We will be happy to pay out your credit at the info points in the Mensa am Aasee or Mensa am Ring during regular opening hours.

What should I do if my online card top-up is not credited to the card?

Did you hold your card up to a card reader at a cash register in our canteens or bistros after topping up online? Your card will be credited automatically at these devices. If there are still problems, simply contact us at info-ge@stw-muenster.de.

Where can I find information about the ingredients in the food?

You can find all information on allergens and ingredients in the menu. If you have any questions on site, speak to our staff in the canteens and bistros – they will be happy to help you!

Can I continue to pay with my student ID after exmatriculation?

Yes, you can pay with your student ID even after you have exmatriculated. However, your price allocation will automatically be changed to “non-students”.

As a non-student, do I need a MensaCard to pay?

No, you do not necessarily need a MensaCard to pay at our locations. You can also pay with your Girocard or credit card. However, you can only use the food vending machines and the multifunctional and photocopying machines with a student ID or a MensaCard.

Can I take my child with me to the canteen and how does the children's meal ticket work?

Yes, you are welcome to take your child with you to the canteen. If you are studying at a university in Münster, you can apply for a children’s meal card for your child. With this card, your child up to the age of 14 will receive a child-friendly portion free of charge if you eat a meal in one of our canteens or bistros. A prior consultation is required to obtain the children’s meal card. You can find more information and how to apply for the card on our special page on the children’s meal card.

Can I eat in the canteens with a large group?

For groups, we offer the option of organizing canteen visits in advance and paying for them collectively. This is particularly suitable for school classes or other larger groups. Catering is provided via pre-arranged services, which can be conveniently provided by voucher redemption. After the visit, we will issue you with a corresponding total invoice.

Please note that prior registration and coordination of details (number of participants, date, catering) is required.
