This is how you can pay in our catering establishments

As a student at the University of Applied Sciences Münster and the University of Münster, you can use your student ID to pay in our canteens, bistros and cafés as well as at our vending machines. Non-students can use the MensaCard to benefit from our gastronomic offers.

Payment with the student ID card for students of FH Münster and the University of Münster

The FH Münster and University of Münster student ID cards combine several functions: They serve as a student and library card and can be used to pay at photocopiers, multifunction devices, in canteens, bistros and cafés as well as at our hot/cold and confectionery vending machines.

Payment with the MensaCard for guests and students from other universities

Students from other universities and guests can obtain a MensaCard from our catering facilities, which is available at the info points or cash desks during regular opening hours, in order to benefit from our catering offers.

Costs and validity of the MensaCard

The MensaCard costs €5.00, which is a one-off fee and is non-refundable. You can top up the initial credit as you wish. The card is valid for three years from the date of issue. If you want to continue using it after this time, you can have it extended free of charge at the info points.

Top up your student ID card or MensaCard

Top up your card in good time to avoid waiting times. You can top up your card free of charge at our card top-up machines with amounts of €5.00, €10.00, €20.00 and €50.00 up to a maximum credit of €60.00.

Alternatively, you can also top up your student card online.

Group catering

For groups, we offer the option of organizing canteen visits in advance and paying for them collectively. This is particularly suitable for school classes or other larger groups. Catering is provided via pre-arranged services, which can be conveniently provided by voucher redemption. After the visit, we will issue you with a corresponding total invoice.

Please note that prior registration and coordination of details (number of participants, date, catering) is required.

Frequently asked questions about payment

Students from other universities, such as the Academy of Art, can receive their MensaCard at the info points or cash desks in our canteens, bistros and cafés. Please bring your student ID with you.

Your MensaCard is valid for three years from the date of issue. Four weeks before it expires, you will receive information at the checkout displays so that you can have the card extended in good time at the info points.

If you have lost your student ID card, please contact the Student Service Office at your university immediately.

If you lose your MensaCard without the ID function, you can simply obtain a new card for a fee of €5 at our info points or cash desks, as the card is not personalized.

You can easily withdraw your credit at the Info-Point in the Mensa am Aasee or the Mensa am Ring during regular opening hours.

If your online top-up has not been credited to your MensaCard, first check whether you have held the card up to a card reader at one of our tills after topping up. If the problem persists, please contact us at info-ge@stw-muenster.de and we will help you.
