Ausbildung im Stw

  • Office manager (m/f/d)

Letters, statistics, phone calls, appointments, invoices, files, presentations … alternately, repeatedly, or everything at the same time. The days in the office are always different and you can shape them, varied and often exciting! The framework plan allows for a lot, so take your chance.

During your apprenticeship, you will get to know all the administrative areas one after the other and you will find your permanent position. Are you more interested in juggling numbers? Then you might find yourself in accounting. Or do you like advising customers and organising needs? We are one of Münster’s largest landlords and you can get involved there just as much as you can in applying for financial aid to enable students to study.

Office management assistant is the second most popular training in Germany. With us, each and every individual counts and every trainee is different!

  • Assistant cook (m/f/d)

It’s clear what a chef does! But what does an assistant cook do? Simply: you give the chef a hand where needed.

Every day, 15,000 students stop by for a meal, 800 guests are expected every day in our cafés, and we cater for our guests at an average of 150 events a year. For you this means cutting vegetables, frying meat, stirring sauces, cooking rice pudding, baking cakes … As a team, you make sure that the food is served on time and that the guests are satisfied. At mealtime, canteens or restaurants are often under a lot of stress. The kitchen management must be able to rely on their helpers. They can certainly rely on you, can’t they?

Assistant cook is an apprenticeship for people with disabilities, which we offer in cooperation with Lernen fördern e.V. (promote learning) You are special? We think so too!

  • Specialist for system catering (m/f/d)

Humans are creatures of habit. Even if they want to discover new cities and foreign countries, they are happy to find familiar food and the same quality in restaurants or cafés. So it feels a bit like home everywhere.

And that is exactly what defines the system caterer. The burgers of a chain are the same everywhere, the coffee of a well-known supplier tastes identical in all branches. That sounds boring? However, the training to become a system caterer is anything but that! Because it combines a commercial and a manual profession.

You will work in different departments or areas of our bistros and canteens and also in the cafés: baking biscuits, preparing bread rolls, making salads and desserts, wok station or Schnitzelstrasse … Who are our customers and how do I deal with them? With us, you will learn important procedures that you need to know for your future job, for example as a bistro manager. But the commercial part of our administration is just as important. How are the recipes created? How much staff is needed and where? Is 160,000 kg of salad enough per year? In addition to the catering facilities, you will also work in accounting, purchasing and the human resources department of the Studierendenwerk.

Training to become a system caterer is different every day. And every trainee is different, and maybe not always a creature of habit.

  • Hotel Clerk (m/f/d)

The processes in a hotel are incredibly varied and often completely different. As a hotel clerk, you have to keep a cool head. Has everything been bought for breakfast, have the rooms been cleaned and properly booked, everything properly billed and booked and, above all, are the guests satisfied?

You are the one who pulls all the strings. But don’t worry: we’ll prepare you well for this. In order to keep an overview, it is important that you understand what is happening in the different areas and how the processes work. And that’s what we can offer you! During your training, you will work in all areas of the hotel, e.g., also in accounting, purchasing and the human resources department of the Studierendenwerk, because the focus as a hotel clerk is on commercial and business management topics.
